World of Tanks – Ghost tanks – E-10

Posted on 4 February 201417 July 2019 by demostene

The WoT ghost tank column is back! Today we talk about the Hetzer E-10

p4

The E-10 tank destroyer was part of the E project, standardized vehicles that could speed up production by sharing many parts and, basically, even basic design. The E-10 in fact had to share many components with the E-25. Conceived in May 1942 and authorized in April 1943, this small vehicle, a future replacement for the Hetzer 38T, had some remarkable features: the frontal armor of the casemate was 60mm / 60 °, 20mm / 10 ° lateral, 20mm / 15th posterior. Even the hull was fairly well armored in relation to the vehicle’s small size, 30mm / 60 ° front, 20mm / 33 ° rear. The back plate could be removed completely and the engine (550 hp of power) and transmission could be removed in a few hours. The main weapon had to be a 7.5cm PaK 39 L / 48. A special feature of the E-10 was that it had an auxiliary motor that made it possible to change the height of the suspension and consequently of the vehicle, according to need.

And in World of Tanks? The tank has been announced for some time, however, it is not yet introduced and it is not even among the test vehicles. In so many news the devs have declared to have some problems in developing the variable height suspensions (this was in 2014/2015). To this day it is not known whether it will be introduced as a premium tank or on a new branch of tank destroyers, perhaps the one with the Sturmtiger as final tier X vehicle!

E in World of Tanks?
